The Effects of HRT on Bones and Muscles in Menopause (Case Studies)

Hormone replacement therapy and mid-term implant survival following knee or hip arthroplasty for osteoarthritis: a population-based cohort study

Objective: To investigate whether hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is associated with reduced revision rates in a community-based cohort of women undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA) for osteoarthritis.

Conclusion: HRT use is associated with an almost 40% reduction in revision rates after a TKA/THA

The relationship between plasma estradiol and the increase in bone density in postmenopausal women after treatment with subcutaneous hormone implants

Objective: To investigate the factors that influence the increase in bone density with subcutaneous estradiol and testosterone implants

Conclusion: Pellets demonstrated a much greater increase in bone density than oral estrogens or patches
