What is tennis elbow?

Lateral epicondylitis, more commonly referred to as tennis elbow, occurs with overuse of the forearm muscles. The forearm tendons become damaged from repeated motion. This leads to pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow. Tennis elbow presents as inflammation, or in more severe cases as micro-tearing of the tendons that connect the forearms muscles.

What is a sprained ankle?

A sprained or twisted ankle occurs when the ligaments that support and stabilize the ankle stretch beyond their limits and tear. A twisting force to the lower leg or foot can cause a sprain.  Walking on uneven surfaces, suffering a fall, or playing certain sports can all be the cause of an ankle sprain. The severity of an ankle sprain depends on how much damage the ligaments sustained.

Ankle sprains most commonly occur in the ligaments on the outside of the ankle, known as the lateral ligaments. Your ankle quickly becomes swollen and painful to walk on. Without appropriate care and treatment, more severe sprains can weaken your ankle, making it more likely that an injury will reoccur.
